Milking it

There's disagreement, presumably mainly provoked by diary farmers, around whether or not plant-based milk-substitutes are milk. Interestingly it's Europe, rather than the US, where the diary industry seems to hold sway with respect to plant-based product labelling.

But I digress. How does it taste?

I've been having oat milk in tea for a few years. J has recently taken against cow's milk, though he has nothing against cows. So K decided we should have a taste test. All four of us tested 6 milks*, and the results are as follows

- Soya milk is passable.

- Almond milk is too bitter.

- Rice milk is water with very dilute white paint in it.

- Coconut milk is nice. As everyone knows. One could imagine it working well with cereal.

- Oat milk is the closest of these 6 to dairy milk, and not too bad.

- Cashew milk is disgusting.

Interestingly, when you pour cashew milk down the sink, a thick grey sludge comes out last. Which leads me to think that perhaps cashew milk is made from waste putty.

Right. Enough about milk. Time for the rugby!
